Easy stuffed dates make a perfect snack or party food! The cream cheese is flavored with orange, honey and walnuts creating a sweet treat with so much flavor!
These dates are such an easy snack, sweet yet healthier. Dress them up for a party platter, or just nibble them all up as you make them.
My kids enjoyed these but they really thought the dates tasted like figs. Which is pretty neat considering how much cheaper dates are than figs. If you haven’t tried dates before, I really recommend them. They are so naturally sweet that they are sold dried without added sugar. And they are super inexpensive, I think I paid $2.99 for a pound. There are so many things you can do with them, like chocolate almond date balls or 3 ingredient cashew date balls. This is the first time I ever stuffed them, and I’m now thinking of so many flavor options for stuffed dates!
The cream cheese filling is so delicious and simple. Just whipped cream cheese with a bit of honey, orange juice, and orange zest. Stir in a generous handful of toasted walnuts and the flavors just explode. The cream cheese is not overly sweet, which works perfectly with the date’s natural sweetness.
So, dare I say how close the holidays are? Its okay if you are not quite ready (like me!) but we will have to start thinking about them after Halloween on Saturday. Although these are sweet, they would not be out of place as an appetizer. They are perfect little finger food, and they can be made ahead! Just store them in the refrigerator. I actually like them better cold, but they are delicious either way.
