Loaded Steak and Cheese on Grilled Ciabatta Garlic Toast at The Well Floured Kitchen

This may be surprising, but we had steak on Father’s Day. How about you? I think we were likely in the majority. I love having a bit of leftover steak because it is perfect thinly sliced over salad or to throw in a stir fry. I’ve decided what’s even better is some loaded steak and cheese sandwiches.

I was happy to find some beautiful ciabatta bread on sale at Whole Foods. For whatever reason, I have not successfully baked up ciabatta. Which is a shame because it makes a really perfect sandwich bread or garlic toast. In fact, my indecisive nature won out and so I made my sandwich on my garlic toast.

Although steak and cheese alone is plenty to satisfy my crew, I also brushed my steak with a bit of black pepper balsamic vinegar. Just a hint gave a new dimension to this otherwise classic sandwich. Totally optional though.

Meatball subs. I love em’, meatballs are definitely one of my comfort foods. But seriously who can eat them without making a mess? They practically demand that you drip sauce down your chin.
