I spend most of the day thinking about food.
My idyllic morning: cup of coffee (obviously already prepared and waiting), and some time alone to wake up and and knead the morning’s bread. Que bird’s chirping, glistening dewy grass and a warm sun splashing my face with light through the window as I plan the day’s events and meals for my happy family.
Hold up, wait. That never happens. In a house with 4 kiddos mayhem ensues most days. That first sentence is mostly true though, since try as I might, they all continue to insist on being fed. Over and over. But it’s okay, because I like being in the kitchen creating something tasty to share.
This blog is my little corner of the world to share my recipes. Most recipes will be from scratch, and I hope to show you how easy it can be! I have a giant sweet tooth, so you will find lots of baking recipes. Everything is a little bit better with a cookie. Or cake. Or brownies…I’m not very picky. My goal is to inspire others to enjoy their food and spend time around the family table.
My husband Greg was my college sweetheart. We got married in the year 2000. Only so it would be easy to remember. This year it’s been, hmm, let me see…yes
14,15,16 17 years!
Wasting no time we had our first baby in 2001, promptly followed by two more neatly spaced two years apart. In the meantime I was busy working nights as a mutual fund analyst (= boring!) and running a small baking business. Now I spend my days covering my kitchen in flour (literally), taking pictures of everything we eat, blogging, and homeschooling the (3 out of 4) kiddos.
2014 was particularly momentous for our family as we traveled halfway around the world (not kidding 15 hours!) to adopt our youngest boy. It was a life changing amazing experience. He fits into our family like a glove and loves his mama’s cooking!
Let’s see, what else? My hobbies …well aside from weekend
skydiving, bungee jumping and para-sailing expeditions are … Hmm, does taking care of the kids count as a hobby? No? My hobby would probably be planning all the interesting hobbies I will have in about 15 years (which will not include skydiving, bungee jumping, or para-sailing).
