Crispy gougere puffs seasoned with chipotle and cheddar. Served with a cilantro lime dip. Fun and unique party appetizer!
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I am not still up wrapping presents, how about you?
Ha, If only. I’m usually doing things right until the last minute, always thinking I have more time than I actually do. But I’m excited too, can’t wait until the big day is finally here. The kids are so fun to watch. And then, after all this hustle and bustle, I hope to enjoy a relaxing week off until the new year.
If you are heading to a New Year’s party, or just staying home in your pj’s, I have the perfect appetizer for you. Light and crispy gougeres, made from pate a choux. Pate a choux is the same dough used to make cream puffs, and it really is easy to make. No yeast to worry about!
I used some spicy chipotle peppers and sharp cheddar cheese to season the gougeres. The dip is made with refreshing cilantro and lime in a sour cream base.
