A rich and creamy dark chocolate fondue, only 2 ingredients and perfect for dipping!
My sweet girl chose fondue for her birthday party dessert! How fun is that?
I have to say it was so much easier than a traditional cake. We had a great time thinking of fun things to dip. For a lot of her friends, this was their fist time having fondue. It was so sweet- if not a little crazy- watching 13 girls giggle and dip 🙂
And I don’t care how old they are, never forget to remind them of the first rule of fondue.
“No double dipping!”
Since this fondue is soo super easy to make, you can spend your time thinking about what tastes good dipped in chocolate. The answer? Almost everything!
Is that enough shots of things being dipped in chocolate- are you tired of it yet? (Is that even possible?)
This is what we served:
- Graham Crackers
- Pound Cake
- Homemade “Rice Krispie” Treats
- Sugar Cookies
I think it’s safe to say there was something for everyone. And since there were so many choices, it also meant there was plenty of leftovers!
The bottom line is fondue is awesome for parties. What a fun way to bring people together.
What is your favorite thing to dip?
- 2 Cups Chopped Dark Chocolate
- 1½ Cup Heavy Cream
- Place the chopped chocolate into a bowl or glass measuring cup. Pour enough cream over to cover the chocolate- approximately 1 cup. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stopping to stir in between. When the chocolate is completely melted add enough extra cream to reach desired consistency.
We do not have a microwave, so I melt the chocolate in my toaster oven 🙂 A double boiler could also be used.
